URL in / business card out

Turn a website into a business card

A business card is a one-screen summary of a website. Kleido makes that translation literal. Paste the URL and the page becomes a card — same colors, same type, same voice, condensed onto a 3.5-inch rectangle that fits in a wallet.

The flow is built around the assumption that the website is the source of truth. If the brand changes, you change the site. The card follows. There is no separate brand kit to maintain in parallel and no manual hex-code copy-paste step.

How it works

  1. Step 01

    Fetch the page

Kleido pulls the URL on the server, follows redirects, and reads the rendered HTML. It looks at meta tags, OpenGraph data, CSS custom properties, computed styles on hero elements, and the loaded font stack. Pages behind authentication or aggressive bot protection will fail gracefully — paste a public marketing page if you hit that.

  2. Step 02

    Extract the brand system

From the page, Kleido identifies the dominant colors, the heading and body typography, the logo or wordmark, and the tagline if one is present. It also captures voice cues from the copy — short and clipped versus expansive and friendly — so the card text matches the site.

  3. Step 03

    Compose front and back

The front carries the identity (name, role, brand). The back carries the secondary information (contact, social, QR). Kleido decides which side gets which element based on the brand's aesthetic — minimalist sites get a sparser front; expressive sites get more visual treatment.

  4. Step 04

    Edit and ship

Inline-edit the fields, flip the card to verify the back, regenerate if you want a second take, and order printed cards. The whole loop is sub-minute for a clean site.

Use cases

Indie hackers shipping in public

You spent a weekend on a landing page. You want a card for the launch. Pasting the URL turns last weekend's work into this weekend's print job.

Sales reps for a fast-moving brand

Brand refreshes used to mean reprinting every card. With Kleido, the next refresh costs you a regeneration, not a redesign.

Translating an online identity to print

Personal sites, portfolios, and Substack-style newsletters often have strong web presence but no print artifact. Kleido produces a wallet-sized version of the same identity.

Showing a domain to investors

A card that materializes the website you keep talking about makes the meeting end with the URL in the investor's pocket, not in a tab they will close.

About Turn a website into a business card

Pages do not have to be production sites. A staging URL, a Webflow draft, a deployed preview branch — anywhere Kleido can fetch HTML works as a source. If your site relies heavily on client-side rendering, give it a moment to settle and use a public route that serves real content on initial load.

For sites with aggressive frameworks or heavy JavaScript, the extraction quality depends on what the server returns at the URL. The cleaner the rendered HTML, the better the brand fidelity in the resulting card.

Brand fidelity also scales with how much of the brand a page actually exposes. A landing page with a clear hero, visible typography, a logo lockup, and a stated tagline gives Kleido enough signal to compose a faithful card. A bare splash page with no copy, or a marketing page that hides everything behind a single video, often falls back to safer, more generic typography choices. If a first attempt feels thin, point Kleido at a more content-rich page on the same domain — an about page, a pricing page, or a long-form landing — and the resulting card will pick up more of the brand’s real character.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with any website?

Most public marketing sites work well. Sites that require login, render entirely client-side with no SSR fallback, or sit behind aggressive bot protection may extract poorly. Use a public landing page when possible.

What if the site has bad branding?

The card matches what the site shows. If the site is unfinished, the card will be too. Use a polished page or an updated mock as the source.

Can I use a competitor's site?

You can paste any URL Kleido can fetch, but the card you generate is for your own use — printing a card with someone else's identity is fraud. Use your own site or a site you have permission to base your branding on.

How long does a generation take?

Most generations finish in 15–45 seconds depending on page size and how many variants you request.

Can I share the generated card?

Yes. The card is rendered from HTML you can inspect via the share link, and saved templates stay in your account so you can edit, share, and order them later.
